Raiganj Wildlife Sanctuary, in North Dinajpur district is famous for its birds. From June onwards migratory birds crowd the sanctuary - Open-bill storks, Egrets, Night Herons and Cormorants. The resident birds are Kites, Fly-catchers, Owls, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Drongoes, etc.

Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary in Shantiniketan in Birbhum district, is known for Black Buck, Spotted deer, jackals, foxes and a variety of water birds.

Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary in Burdwan boasts of Spotted deer and Common Langur. Black Buck has been introduced recently.

Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary in the district of Nadia has a healthy population of Spotted deer, Jackal, Bengal fox, Procupine, Common Langur, Parakeets Indian Cuckoo, Barbets and other smaller birds and large pythons.

Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary in North 24 Parganas district has Spotted deer and is rich in common birds.

Narendrapur Wildlife Sanctuary in South 24 Parganas District is an Orchard Plantation which is rich insmaller birds, specially paradise fly catcher, Oriole etc.

Lothian Island in South 24 Parganas district has Estuarine Crocodile, Olive Ridley Sea turtle, Spotted Deer, Jungle cat, Rhesus macaque in store.
